It all started when we went to Utah in December 2007 to look at rings. We went to a family friend, Dave Hoer, and we found the perfect ring. Dave created it himself and it was one of kind, so we thought we better take it. On our way out Hutch said that the ring wouldn't be done for another couple of weeks. That bummed me out because I was leaving for home after the semester was done in a couple of weeks. I wanted to have my ring before I left. All of this was on a friday or saturday. We got home and life went back to normal. Well, wednesday came around and Hutch wanted me to come over to his place before I went to work, he wanted to go scouting for places to hunt. We did this a couple times before so I was all in. When I got to his place he dressed me up all in camo clothing and sprayed me with deer scent, oh yes, deer scent. We set out the woods across the street and we walked around for a bit. As we were heading back we stopped at our place where there was like a man made waterfall and we just stood there watching it and hugging, because it was kind of cold. Then Hutch decided we should get going so he told me to go ahead of him in case I slipped going up this little hill. As I started up the hill Hutch asked me, "Hey Elise, can I ask you a question really quick?" And me being so naive and totally unaware, turned around saying, "Ya what's up?" He was on his knee with the ring in his hand. He then proposed and no I didn't cry. In fact I kind of slugged him in the arm because he said he wasn't going to get the ring for another couple of weeks. It's a good thing he's a tough kid. He then told me that he drove to Utah and back the day before in a snow storm in his little 1988 ford escort piece of junk. Poor kid, took him like 9 hours or so.
So there is that little flashback for anyone who didn't know how he proposed. Now we are living in Rexburg, wanting to move into a house and ready to get goin on our lives. Sorry, no kids any time soon. Probably in about less than 2 years. We can guarantee that. We are heading into summer, well at the least 1 day a week of summer. Hutch is trying to get work, but with the economy, no one wants anything done or to spend money. But we are doing great and life couldn't be any better, if it were we'd be dead.
Happy Anniversary, like last month.
