We are, we are, the family mold breakers

December 10, 8:00 am. The sleep from the night before was like sleeping Christmas Eve, non-existent. This day was just like Christmas for me and Hutch and we got all of our wishes and presents we could ask for. Going into the ultrasound room our nurse warned us that she just calls all the babies "he" until we definitely find out the gender, but she was very good and showed us all of our baby's organs and how they should be functioning and all of them were working superbly. What we were worried most about the organs were the kidneys, but she said they were strong and very healthy. Next we move onto the measurements of arm and leg bones. Looking good, considering the kid is only 8 inches long and around 13 oz. Then comes the head. "Wow, "his" head is pretty big!" Great, just the exclamation I wanted to hear. Well there is the Ott gene. She kept trying to get the kid to move so we could see what gender it was, but being our baby, it was as stubborn as could be and wouldn't do anything the nurse wanted it to. It wasn't the best thing when she took the ultrasound instrument and started prodding my stomach really hard trying to get the kid to move it's legs. If you don't have a child, pray it is not as stubborn as mine was. Finally, when the kid thought we weren't looking, it changed positions and the nurse caught a glimpse of the gender. Hutch being doubtful as to what she saw, asked to see it again. The baby definitely was not shy any more. He flaunted his stuff as if he was a porn star according to Hutch's brothers. It is definitely a BOY! We broke the curse of the Thompson family with having a boy first instead of a girl. Oh ya! We are so excited! But to finish the story, the nurse started taking pictures so we could take them home to show everyone and she tried to take a profile of him. Like he would have that happen. He definitely has his father's personality because his head was turned away from the camera and he would slowly turn his head to where his nose almost came up to get a profile, then he would quickly, seriously, quickly turn away. Or he would do the same thing and look straight at the camera really fast. Yup thats my kid. I'm so proud. I already can tell he is going to fit in well with our family. He also has his father's metabolism or something. He likes to play punching bag with my belly when he's bored, i.e. when I'm not moving. And he already has his legs goin as if he's running. He is very sensitive to touch already which is crazy because I'm only 22 weeks along. When I am laying down and he starts doin his thang, if I or Hutch puts our hand on his punching area, he stops immediately. It's so crazy! I'm just glad I have the family I do that has totally changed my perspective on having little Talon James, whether they realize it or not. I'm really glad he has 3 cousins his age he will be able to play with. I cannot wait until he is here! He is definitely a blessing in disguise and God knew we needed him at this time in our lives. I wish I could put my ultrasound picture on here, but again, there isn't one good enough... I think.
